Are Mushrooms Harvested In Siberia (Chaga) Poisonous?

At Antioxi, we are committed to offering you the highest-quality Chaga mushroom sourced from the unspoiled birch forests of Siberia. We understand that concerns may arise about whether our Chaga could have been affected by radiation from the Chernobyl disaster.

Rest assured, our Chaga from Siberia is harvested from regions that are several thousand kilometres away from the Chernobyl site and completely untouched by its radiation.

Where Our Chaga Comes From

Antioxi’s Chaga is carefully harvested from remote and pristine birchwood forests in the following Siberian regions:

  • Altai Region: Known for its rich biodiversity, located about 3,500 km (2,175 miles) from Chernobyl.
  • Irkutsk Oblast and Lake Baikal Area: Approximately 4,500 km (2,800 miles) away, this central Siberian region is famed for its expansive and untouched forests.
  • Tomsk Oblast: Situated around 3,000 km (1,865 miles) from Chernobyl, this region is another key source of our Chaga.

These regions are not only distant but are also characterised by their clean air, pure water, and unpolluted environments, making them ideal for producing the highest quality Chaga.

Why Distance Matters

The fallout from the Chernobyl disaster primarily affected Ukraine, Belarus, and parts of western Russia, which are all located much closer to the site. Siberia, on the other hand, is located far to the east of these areas, and prevailing wind and weather patterns during the time of the disaster would have minimised or completely prevented any significant radiation exposure in those areas.

With the Altai, Irkutsk, and Tomsk regions all being thousands of kilometres away, it is geographically improbable for any Chernobyl-related radiation to have impacted our Chaga sources.

Conclusion

At Antioxi, we ensure our Siberian Chaga is sourced from regions far from Chernobyl, ensuring it is entirely unaffected by radiation and safe for consumption.
